ACOPA Announces New Leadership
ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries Elects New Leadership Council
ARLINGTON, VA (August 13, 2010) – The ASPPA College of Pension Actuaries (ACOPA) announced election results and the new leadership took office today at their annual meeting held in conjunction with the Actuarial Symposium held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Annie Brown Voldman, MSPA who has more than 25 years in actuarial valuation services, will serve as president for the 2010-2011 year. “I’m honored to represent the College as president and look forward to working closely with both our members and ASPPA staff to advance ACOPA as a reliable resource for pension actuaries. I have enjoyed serving with Mary Ann Rocco as President and look forward to continuing the work she set in motion,” said Voldman.
ACOPA is governed by a Leadership Council nominated and elected by its members. ACOPA is responsible for meeting the education and training needs of pension actuaries, and representing the views of ASPPA’s actuarial membership by commenting on proposed regulations and legislation affecting actuarial issues. All credentialed actuarial members of ASPPA are members of ACOPA and are eligible to vote, nominate and run for office.
“As president of ACOPA for the 2009-2010 year, I’ve learned so much about what it takes for ACOPA and ASPPA to thrive. It takes the willingness of our members to volunteer their time and effort. It has been an honor working with the people who have been so generous with their time, wisdom and insight. I look forward to welcoming Annie Voldman as the 2010-2011 President and our new board members who I know will contribute greatly to the success of ASPPA’s College of Pension Actuaries,” said Mary Ann Rocco, MSPA , immediate past president.

Other ACOPA Leadership Council Members elected to new terms are Andrew Ferguson, Richard Kutikoff, and G. Neff McGhie, III for three year terms and Karen Smith for a two year term.
These newly elected Leadership Council Members will join G. Patrick Byrnes, Norman Levinrad, Kurt F. Piper, Howard Rosenfeld, and Clifford Woodhall on the Leadership Council, along with Past President Mary Ann Rocco, and Penultimate Past President Michael Preston.
