Allen Brings 15 Years of Industry Expertise to ASPPA

ARLINGTON, VA (August 19, 2011)—The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) today announced the addition of Lisa Allen to their team as the Educational Programs Advocate. Allen joins ASPPA from Alliance Benefit Group Carolinas, where she was a Senior Vice President and Director of Strategic Alliances.

“Lisa brings a unique blend of experience to ASPPA. Her background includes not only important technical retirement plan knowledge but also a familiarity with the needs and challenges of retirement plan advisors. Adding to that experience, she has been involved with ASPPA and its affiliated organizations as a credentialed member and volunteer. This diverse background gives her a unique perspective on what retirement plan professionals need for continuing education and career growth. We welcome her experience and know she will be a great asset in accomplishing ASPPA’s educational mission,” said Kim Szatkowski, ASPPA Chief of Pension Education.

Allen has over fifteen years of administration, operations, sales and marketing experience in the retirement plan industry. While at ABG Carolinas, Allen supervised the marketing department and developed the Advisor Service Team, a dedicated team of specialists providing sales support to retirement plan advisors and their broker dealer compliance departments. She also oversaw the firm’s broker dealer, financial advisor, and custodial alliance partner relationships. Allen maintains the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential.

“ASPPA’s educational offerings are indispensible for retirement plan professionals. As an eight year member of ASPPA I’ve been a beneficiary of industry expertise, education, and credentialing programs. I’m eager to raise awareness of all the diversity of educational offerings, that I know will provide fellow retirement plan professionals the same professional growth,” said Allen.
