ARLINGTON, VA (September 1, 2011)—The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) today announced the addition of James E. Dornan to their team as Political Director. Dornan joins ASPPA from Artemis Strategies where he was Senior Vice President handling political consulting services.

“We welcome Jim to the ASPPA team.  His experience with campaign strategy and management brings a new dimension to ASPPA’s already top notch Government Affairs team,” said Judy A. Miller, ASPPA Director of Retirement Policy.

Dornan has over 20 years in the political arena ranging from running numerous Congressional and state-wide political races from Florida to Washington state, working on Capitol Hill for six different Members of Congress and holding various other consulting and management positions in the government sector.

Dornan is also a guest lecturer at universities and programs such as George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, the University of Notre Dame’s Washington program, the Close-Up Foundation, and the Fund for American Studies’ Institute for American Journalism.

“ASPPA members are engaged in helping workers across the nation save towards retirement through defined benefit and contribution plans. I feel honored to work with an organization that touches the lives of hard working Americans and I look forward to helping ASPPA members communicate  the benefits of the private employer sponsored retirement system to state and national opinion leaders and government officials,” said Dornan.

Dornan joins Judy Miller, Craig Hoffman, Jennifer Perkins, and Debra Davis on the ASPPA government affairs team.
